Freeman Schools PTSA Meeting, March 13, 2013

Lisa Paternoster, President of Freeman PTSA said their next meeting is at 3:30 p.m., March 13, 2013 at Freeman School.

Freeman PTSA publishes a Newsletter around the last Friday of the month during school, except in December. The letters are available in PDF on the school website.

A total of about $1,400 was awarded to:

• Mr. Rae/Mrs. Mega/Mrs. Romey, Sixth Grade - Annual Sixth Grade Rocket Project.
• Mrs. Jensen and Mrs. Smith, Kindergarten - Apple iPad.
• Mrs. Zinkgraf, PE - Jung Kim’s Martial Arts Academy visits to the Third Grade PE Class.
• Mrs. Metcalf and Mrs. Wall, Third Grade - Field Trip to Mobius Science Center
• Mrs. Cochrane and Mrs. Hie-nen, First Grade - Eight Headphones for quiet time.
• Mrs. Briggs, MS Art -  Art supplies.
• Mrs. Gady, Preschool - Replacement CD Player.

The PTSA is proud to be involved in activities to benefit Freeman School District students and teachers. Come to meeting and add your skills and talents too.

Rockford Women's Club Meeting March 7, 2013

 Rockford Women's Club meeting, March 7, 2013, 7:00 p.m., Harvest Moon Restaurant, Rockford, Wash. Plans will be finalized to attend a play March 19, 2013, at the Civic Theater, Spokane, Wash.

Rockford Women's club meets at 7:00 p.m. every 1st and 3rd Tuesday, generally at the Harvest Moon except on special occassions, when they announce a change of meeting place. All local area women are invited to the meetings.

The Grange has many contests throughout the year, from canning to poetry, which anyone can enter. They also have many scholarships available for students. Freeman Schools Top Fund Raisers For 8th Consecutive Years

 

Congratulations Freeman Public Schools!

For the 8th year in a row, Freeman school raised more funds than any other school in the area in the "Burgers with a Heart program."

All funds raised from this event go directly to the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery, which provides a safe haven for abused and neglected children.

This year, the schools raised $1722.96, bringing their grand total to
$14,155 over a nine year span! The second place school this year was Riverside, raising a total of $668.

The program is headed up by the Future Business Leaders of America chapter at the high school, but it truly is a district wide event. Helping out this year was, the middle school leadership class through their sale of Valentine’s Day “Heart Grams”. The class raised a total of $417.96 for this great cause.

An additional $578 was raised at Red Robin on February 7th, 2013,
with the remainder being raised from the sale of paper hearts throughout the community.

A  huge thank you goes out to everyone who dined at Red Robin on the 7th, those who purchased and sold hearts, and for those who either made, sold, or bought heart grams.
