Haunted Palouse Construction Starts September 29, 2012

Construction for the 11th annual Haunted Palouse begins this weekend.  People often ask "What can I do?  I want to support the event but don't want to wear a scary costume!"  The answer is there's LOTS you can do...

There are many behind-the-scenes jobs to do for both haunted houses and on Shady Lane - no costumes or acting required.

Help us build and decorate the 3 areas - we'll tell you what needs done, you don't have to be professional set designer!

Make cookies for the workers - starting this Sunday, crews will be working every Saturday and Sunday and many times during the week. At least 15 will be working each weekend day, and on performance nights, nearly 50!

Donations of pop, bottled water, chips, snacks, mini candy bars - or a donation to our account at McLeod's - all would be appreciated by the many volunteers.

Some of the volunteers have small children at home - donating babysitting service to those working or building the event would be nice.

Would you be willing to donate a cordless screw gun this weekend?  We have several college guys coming to help on Sunday, but not enough tools to go around.

Prop items requested (there will be more):

Large mirrors, at least 36" square, or a sliding closet door mirror?  If you have one languishing in the garage that you no longer want, let us know (soon - so we can conjure up a different scene if we can't find one).

Squeaky toys - what they look like doesn't matter, they just need to squeak :  )

Recipients of proceeds include the Community Center, Arts Council, Garfield-Palouse Athletic Club, Lions Club, Palouse Museum, and Palouse Chamber.  New this year, proceeds will be used to turn the downtown Reader Board back on.

Thank you for considering supporting this community event.  Contact Paula Echanove or Janet Barstow to volunteer or for more information.
