The next Palouse Food Bank will be May 29, 2013, from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm at the Palouse Community Center. Any resident living within the 99161 zip code in need of supplemental food is welcome.

Volunteers Needed - Urgent - May 13, 2013 Meeting


Interested in being part of our special night for the Class of 2013?  Volunteers are needed......please consider helping out for this wonderful event.

Please come to a meeting on Monday, May 13, at 6:00 P.M. in the HS library.

We will be coordinating the decorating, food, and chaperoning for the All Night Grad Party held Saturday, June 1.

This is a celebration for the senior class but grades 9-11 are also included in the fun and get to attend the festivities as well.

You don't have to have a student to be involved.  All food and supplies are provided so there are no costs involved to you.

The 2013 Palouse Swim Team Needs Coaches


Currently, the Palouse Swim Team does not have any coaches lined up for the 2013 swim team.  The season runs about a month and a half and will be starting the middle of June.  Practice is Monday – Friday, between Noon and 1:00 p.m., and swim meets are twice a week.

"Unscramble The Palousoe Slogan 2013" Contest Open


Individuals needed

You're invited to participate in the Palouse Chamber of Commerce's "Unscramble the Palouse Slogan 2013" contest.
 
We need individuals/artistic people to make the letters that will be used in the contest.
 
If you wish to participate, pick up one letter from Grammy G's Quilt Shop, 124 E. Main Street, Palouse, WA, 509-878-1660.
 
You will transform this 16"x20" letter into a piece of art.  The letter needs to remain recognizable.  Please frame your letter if possible.
 
Letters must be finished by May 30, 2013, and turned in at Grammy G's Quilt Shop.  The letters will be on display from June 1, 2013, through Sept. 10, 2013, in various downtown businesses (fading may occur).
 
Palouse Day, September 14, 2013, we will display the slogan (made from all the individual art piece letters) at the Palouse Community Center.  The slogan letters will become the property of the Palouse Chamber and will be sold at the Fall Craft Fair to raise money for the Palouse Chamber.

Council Vacancy Position

The City of Palouse is soliciting letters of interest to fill vacated council position #4.  This term runs until Dec. 31, 2013.  The City Council meets the second and fourth Tuesday of every month at 7:00 pm.  If you live within the city limits of Palouse and would like to serve on the Palouse City Council, please submit a letter of interest by 2 pm, April 19, 2013, to Palouse City Hall, POB 248, 120 E. Main Street, Palouse, WA  99161.
 

 Steve Myer resigned his Rockford council position affective April 03, 2013, and his reasons are stated in the April 03, 2013 minutes. April 17, 2013, the Council approved filling the vacancy. Applications are available at Rocford Town Hall, 20 W Emma St., Rockford, Washington.

Life Guard Positions Opening at Palouse, Washington


The City of Palouse is hiring lifeguards for the 2013 summer season. 

Applicants need to be available to work from June 20th to August 18th, 2013.

Applications can be picked up at City Hall or by replying to this email. 

All applicants must be certified, by opening day, in Lifeguarding, First Aid, & CPR.
