Brenda's Helping Hand Continues to Feed Kids

Four years ago Freeman High School lost a beloved friend and member of their staff, Brenda Swartout. As the head cook in the high school, Brenda lost her battle with lung cancer at the age of 43. Brenda had a passion for feeding hungry kids in all grades. She asked her friends to find a way to feed kids when they didn’t have the money to eat hot lunch.

Brenda's Helping Hand resulted; a fund Freeman School started in 2008. It serves only Freeman District students in helping to fight hunger by purchasing lunches for district children who don’t have lunch money.

Since 2008, hundreds of kids in all grades have been provided nourishing meals, usiing the fund. In addition to that, the fund has helped make food baskets for low-income families over the holidays possible, when students aren't at school to eat hot lunch.

If you can help out with a donation, please make checks payable to Brenda’s Helping Hand, and address it to Brenda’s Helping Hands, Freeman High School, 14917 S Jackson Rd., Rockford, WA 99030.

The donation will be put to good use feeding kids.
