Nearly a Ton of Food Plus Cash = Successful North Palouse Food Drive

North Palouse Community Food Bank's Annual Food Drive, October 22, 2011 was very successful, President Sheila Dyer said.

The Zion Lutheran Church of Fairfield, and the Presbyterian Church of Fairfield sponsor the Food Drive. A kids’ hayride is organized by the churches each October to ride around Fairfield and pick up the bags of food that Fairfield residents donate.

Food Bank volunteers distribute paper bags in Latah, Rockford and Waverly to collect food and donations, and return on a specified day to collect bags of food from these towns that are also served by the Food Bank. On behalf of the North Palouse Community Food Bank, Dryer sends thanks.
"Thank you for your interest, and your generous donation to the North Palouse Community Food Bank. We are grateful to have received 1920 pounds of food from the residents in our towns this year, and for the $225.00 in donations."
The Food Bank is open several days each month, and will be open Saturday, November 26, 2011, 9:00 a.m. - Noon.
