Track and Field meet results
Though the weather was threatening, the GarPal Colton track and field team turned in some good performances in Dayton, Wednesday, April 25.
On the Men's side, senior Jeff Kent swept his events with 1st place in the 100m (11.74c), 200m (24.74c), and 400m PR (54.14c).
The 4x400 men's relay team (Kent, Robertson, Knauff, and Bosch) also took 1st place (4:06.4).
Junior Nick Robertson placed 2nd in the 100m with a PR (12.34); 4th in the 200m (26.64) and 4th in the 400m (56.34).
Junior Anthony Floyd, fighting a hamstring issue, won the javelin (season PR, 134'5") and placed 3rd in the long jump (17'4.75").
Senior Derrick Bosch placed 3rd in the the Shot Put (36'9.5") and the Discus (season PR, 114'4) and 7th in the javelin (100'7").
Sophomore Kevin Knauff placed 3rd in the 800m (2:42), 6th in the 400m (65.44), and 7th in the discus (73'3"). The men's team placed 2nd overall!
On the Women's side, the women's 4x100 relay team (Leendertsen, Druffel, Akin, and Thompson) placed 2nd with a nearly 1 second PR (56.34).
Senior Emma Akin placed 3rd in both the long jump (season PR, 13'8") and triple jump (29'10") and 8th in the 100m (14.74).
Junior Cassie Thompson was 4th in the 200m (30.41), 4th in the long jump (13'7") and 5th in the 100m matching her PR (14.24).
Senior Grace Druffel placed 2nd in the 300m hurdles (57.94) and 5th in the 200m (31.84) and 6th in the 1600, her first time out (7:05.12).
Junior Holly Leendertsen placed 6th in the 100m (14.34), 5th in the long jump (13') and PR’d in the javelin (63'2").
Senior Jessie Hathaway PR'd yet again as she placed 5th in the discus (76'6") and had a season PR in the javelin, approaching her life PR (49').
The VikCats head to their final regular season meet next Weds, May 2nd, in Clarkston, Wash.
