Another great day at the track for the GarPal Colton Track and Field team. The team traveled to Pullman for their last "Home meet" of the season where they fared quite well!
On the men's side, junior Nick Robertson won the 400m race with his PR (55.8) This is his 3rd PR in a row in the challenging event and yields him 5th place in the district, with teammate Jeff Kent in 4th place! Robertson also placed 6th in the 200m (25.92) and 7th in the 100m with a PR (12.72). Junior Anthony Floyd placed 2nd in the javelin (120'08") and 3rd in the long jump with a PR (18'6.5"). The other VikCat men were not able to compete at this meet.
On the ladies side, junior Cassie Thompson placed 2nd in the long jump (14'.5"), 4th in the 200m (30.33), and 6th in the 100m (14.54). Senior Emma Akin placed 3rd in both the long jump (13'.03") and triple jump (29'2") Senior Grace Druffel place 2nd the in 300m hurdles (55.51), and 7th in the 200m (31.37). Junior Holly Leendertsen place 4th in the long jump (12'10.75"), 8th in the javelin with a PR (61'10") and 7th in the 100m (14.64). Senior Jessie Hathaway was near her PR in the Javelin (45'10"), but not quite. The ladies 4x100 relay team of Leendertsen, Druffel, Akin, & Thompson, placed 3rd (57.43).
The team heads to Coeur d’ Alene on Saturday for their last invitational meet of the season and the weather is supposed to be GREAT!!
