Downloadable audio and ebooks will be the topic of an open house held at the Colton Library, 760 Broadway Ave., February 23, 2012, 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. If you have a Kindle, Nook, or MP3 player, you can download books from the Whitman County Library website. The library has free wifi.
Downloads are free with a library card. Bring your device and your own laptop if you have one, and we can help you set up to download books yourself at home.
Thinking about purchasing a digital device? The experts from the main library will bring examples with them for you to try out.
Colton Library will also present a teen craft program, Thursday, March 1, 2012, 4:00 p.m., for area teenagers, ages 12-18. Chelsea Leachman, Teen Services Coordinator for Whitman County Library, will lead the program. Kids can hang out together and make a duct-tape wallet. A snack will be provided.
Storytimes continue on Monday mornings at 10:30 a.m. at the Colton Library for ages 1-6. The current theme is numbers, and two numbers are celebrated each week through stories, songs, crafts, and color pages.
The library will be closed Monday, February 20, 2012 in observance of President’s Day.
Keep in mind that February is Food for Fines month at all Whitman County Libraries. Patrons are encouraged to bring in non-perishable food items to erase up to $10 in library fines. All donations go to your local food bank.
