Endicott Library News, February 2012

New Librarian Laura Jones at Endicott Branch Library, 324 E. Street, Endicott, Wash., invites preschoolers to join her for the fun of Storytime Friday at 10:00 a.m. when school is in session.

The growing group enjoys stories, crafts and occasional visitors. On Corgi Day a special dog and her human told the legends of the corgis and fairies. February themes include holidays and special letters.
Tuesday, February 14, 2012, Marie Fowler from the Council on Aging will continue her monthly visits to answer questions on government benefits, insurance and related topics for senior citizens.  This confidential, unbiased help is available to everyone. She will be at the Endicott Library the second Tuesday of each month from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. and can extend her visits for scheduled appointments. For more information or to schedule a special time contact Marie at (509) 397-4305 or 368-1996.
Exciting changes are coming to afterschool programming at the Endicott Library in February.  Librarian Laura has been thrilled at the large attendance and now wants to offer two programs.  Third Tuesday Club will now be for grades K-3. February’s theme is President’s Day; join us at 3:30 p.m. on February 21.
Grades 4-6 have a new program, Fourth Tuesday Club.  Teen Librarian Chelsea Leachman is kicking off our first session on February 28, at 3:30 p.m. with a special program for future scientists.
Donations of afterschool snacks during these sessions would be much appreciated by the library and the participants.  Call 657-3429 for more information.
More information about our programs and updates on the plans for construction is available on our new library Facebook page.  Look for Endicott Public Library and make sure to “like us”.  Contact the library if you would like to add other local events to the library’s page.
Are you looking for a quick way to clear up some old library fines or just want to contribute to the food bank?  February is Food for Fines month at the library.  Non-perishable food can be brought in any time we are open and Laura is happy to waive up to $10 in fines.
The open hours of the Endicott Library are Tuesday 1 to 6 p.m. and Friday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
