Colton Track & Field traveled to
Milton-Freewater, Oregon, for their first, regular
season meet, Wednesday, March 28 and fared quite well!
High
Team scorer for the Men's team was senior Jeff Kent, who placed 3rd in
the 400 meters with a new personal best of
54.34 (C), 3rd in the pole vault, and 4th in the 100m. Senior Derrick Bosch placed 6th in the
discus, 7th in the shot and 8th in the Javelin. Junior Anthony Floyd placed 3rd in the
Javelin and 5th in the triple jump. The
VikCat men's 4x400 relay team (Floyd, Bosch, Nick Robertson (jr.), and Kevin Knauff
(so.)), placed 7th in
their first outing.
On
the Women's side, high team scorer was shared
by junior Holly Leendertsen and junior Grace
Druffel. Leendersten placed 3rd
in the long jump. Druffel placed 3rd
in the 300m hurdles. Junior Cassie
Thompson placed 6th in the 200m and 7th in the long jump. Senior Emma Akin placed 6th in the triple
jump. And Leendertsen, Druffel, Thompson, &
Akin placed 3rd in the 4x100
relay. Jessie Hathaway, the only GPC
female thrower, was near her personal best in two
of her three events.
The
GPC team heads to Clarkston High School on Friday, a meet that was rescheduled
from last Wednesday, for another district meet. Field
events begin at 3 pm, track events at 3:15.
